Blog move

This blog will now be for Novelty Kitten, as well as other crafty business ventures - nothing personal.

But just in case there's anyone reading who is actually interested in the boring details of my life, I'll be blogging about personal stuff (will probably cross-post, actually) at http://pandorakitten.blogspot.com.

Meh.

Kelly was kind enough to send me this link to an article on The Times Online and Erica sent me a link to a different article! So what are these fascinating articles about?

"Meh," probably the most apathetic word ever, has been added to the
Collins English Dictionary! (I know, it's just one dictionary and certainly not the OED, but still!)

"Meh" beat out other suggestions, including "jargonaut," "frenemy" and "huggles."

To celebrate this auspicious occasion, I'm giving away free "Meh" buttons to anyone* who sends me an email with their address. Postage paid and everything.

These "Meh" buttons are 1-1/2 inches wide and were made by the fabulous Renee of My Ugly Kitty.

Just send me an email at pandora75@gmail.com with your name and address and I'll send you your button right away!

Love,
Shayne

VOTE!

I hope everyone is registered to vote and planning on hitting the polls tomorrow. This is the first time I've actually been interested in and excited about an election. I'm also excited about the free Krispy Kreme donut I'll be getting tomorrow.

Some of you may be wondering who members of the household will be voting for...

Elvis doesn't really care, given that none of the candidates support legalizing marijuana.

Sophie is voting for Obama, because she is pro-choice. You wouldn't believe how many abortions she had when she was living on the streets of DC. Thank goodness Randy saved her from that continued fate.

Frida is voting for Nader, since his running mate is latino.

Barry just isn't interested in politics. He just wants to sing, six performances a week in Sam's bedroom.

Patsy is all, "Meow meow McCain meow meow make lasers legal for cats meow meow." She's pretending to sleep right now, but really she's plotting how she can throw the election with her kitty dictator connections.

Sam merely asked, "Who are you voting for? Barack Oboob or John McBalls?" I think that sums things up perfectly.

This is my gift. It is my curse.

So I just cracked open _Business Communications Today_ for my Business Writing class. I've got three chapters of this bad boy to read this week. It's a surprisingly easy read so far, but guess what? In the very first chapter there's a typo! So I was a jerk and emailed the publisher (they do include their email address to send comments) with the error. Seriously, a textbook? For a writing course? Can I please just travel the world with a giant red Sharpie and correct every single thing I see? Please?

This kid cracks me up
